I can only do what I can do

There is so much wrong in the world today that one person alone cannot fix it. But if each person were to choose to do something to make the world better place every day, it could exponentially decrease the problems facing humankind. I believe that just one benevolent act - one good choice - committed by 308,911,000 people (the most recent population of the United States, March 21, 2010), every 24-hours, could cause a ripple that would positively affect our nation and the rest of the world. Making one conscious decision to choose goodness over evil, kindness over cruelty, giving over receiving, planting over destroying, and compassion over hatred is not a very difficult task. It just takes a little thought - a slight effort. The payback we could receive from each person taking a minuscule portion of each day to choose to do something to make the world a better place is unimaginable. There are so many things wrong with our world today that it is overwhelming; I can only do what I can do.
